London City Airport is a small single runway airport right in the heart of the capital city and perfect for those looking to avoid the stresses and strains of travelling into Heathrow on Gatwick. Being right in the heart of London it is absolutely perfect for business commuters who don’t want to waste time travelling from one of the airports on the outskirts of the city to their destination inside it.
The airport has put forward proposals to increase it’s capacity by 2030 to 8 million passengers without adding an extra runway. Business has shown a lot of interest in the idea seeing the potential of a busy airport right at the heart of the largest financial centre in Europe.
The Docklands railway links the airport to the financial districts of the city of London, and this is usually the preferred method of transport of most commuters. That said a growing number are choosing to hire private vehicles instead as the trains and the airport itself become increasingly busy as the numbers of people using the airport grows.
If you are thinking about travelling to the airport you are making a very wise decision. Though more expensive it cuts out the often hellish hassle of getting though the 3 larger airports outside of the city and takes you straight into the city without a problem.
