If you find travelling tiring then it is worth knowing that all of the major London city airports have hotels. Many people will fly in and then jump in their hire car straight away, but this is not a sensible idea if you have not had sleep on the flight. Travel can be tiring anyway, changing time zones can add to this tiredness and if you are one of the many people who cannot sleep on planes then you are likely to be exhausted when you arrive. There is something about travel which is tiring even if you are just a passenger and even if you are making a relatively short journey, it is quite odd.

It is obviously very dangerous to drive when you are tired, but if you do not know the roads and are possibly driving on a different side than you are used to then you really need all of your concentration working properly. It is therefore a good idea to book into an airport hotel and get a good nights rest before you continue your journey. It will mean that you can be much safer as you will be alert and you should find that the journey will be a much smoother one. You will have a much better start to your visit to the city. You should find the hotels all comfortable and if you book in advance you may even find that you can get a reduction in the price, which is always a good thing.

London City Airport Weather

The British weather isn’t exactly reliable. You never know what’s going to hit you and the weather people never seem to be any help in making you sure about the future weather. This year alone, we’ve gone from one of the warmest summers on record to one of the coldest winters and the nation practically came to a standstill because of it – none more so than in London, where the weather caused havoc at London City Airport and many flights were cancelled.

In spite of this, the weather in the city of London is generally very similar year on year. In the summer, it can often be rather warm and sunny – quite pleasant weather (not hot, but comfortably warm; shorts and tee-shirt weather) although occasionally the clouds can cross the sky and obscure the shining sun. This, however, is generally rare and London is a thoroughly enjoyable place to spend the summer months.

The winters are also generally quite mild. This year excluded, London has seen a steady rise in the winter temperatures over the last few years and, although this means that rain can become an all too regular occurrence, the majority of winter days pass without even the hint of a drizzle. It can be frosty in the mornings which can lead to some very picturesque scenes throughout the city. However, there are no more beautiful sights than in spring and autumn. The forests in London turn a whole array of colours which are a pleasure to walk through in the crisp evening.
